| Eligibility | 1. Applicants for selection to the office of Chairperson, FSSAI shall be persons of eminence in the field of Food Science or persons from Administration who have been associated with the subject and is either holding or have held a position not below the rank of Secretary to the Govt. of India. 2. Relevant work experience related to Central/ State Regulatory Bodies would be a desirable qualification for the position. |
| Age Limit and Tenure | The Chairperson shall hold office for a term of three years from the date on which he/she enters upon the office and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further period of three years or till he/she attains the age of 65 years whichever is earlier. |
