The number of posts indicated above is provisional and may vary as per KRCL’s requirements. Accordingly, KRCL will publish updated vacancy positions again on its website, indicating the revised vacancies, if any.
This notification provides for Vertical Reservation for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class-Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Horizontal Reservation for Ex-Servicemen (Ex. SM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
Any unfilled vacancies of Ex-Servicemen (Ex. SM) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) shall not be carried forward. The notification provides for horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen (Ex. SM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), irrespective of their community, wherever applicable and admissible.

Eligibility criteria for Konkan Railways Recruitment
Age Limit
18 to 36 years.
The lower age limit is standard for all the notified posts. The upper age limit has been increased from 33 to 36 to provide relief to many candidates who may have exceeded the age limit due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The age shall be reckoned as on 01/08/2024.
The relaxation in the upper age limit for the following categories/communities in the table below is applicable, subject to the submission of requisite certificates at the time of DV. This age relaxation is over and above the three-year age relaxation mentioned above.
Candidates who wish to be considered against reserved vacancies or seek age relaxation must submit the requisite/relevant certificate in original from the Competent Authority in the prescribed format at the time of DV. Otherwise, their claim for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/ExSM/PwBD/EWS status will not be considered, and their candidature/applications will be considered under the General (UR) category if otherwise eligible. The certificates should be in the format annexed. Certificates submitted in any format other than those prescribed in this notification will not be accepted.
Service personnel likely to be discharged from military service on or before 06/10/2025 are eligible to apply against this employment notice as Ex-Servicemen.
Candidates eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground will benefit from the category with the maximum relaxation and will not get the cumulative benefit.
SC, ST & OBC (NCL) candidates applying against UR vacancies will not get any age relaxation.
PwBD candidates applying against UR vacancies will be allowed age relaxation applicable only for PwBD (UR), subject to suitability conditions.

Educational Qualification
Please see the Post Parameters Table (Annexure-A) for the prescribed qualifications for each post.
Candidates appearing and awaiting final examination results of the prescribed educational/technical qualification can also apply. However, they will be required to produce the requisite certificate of having acquired the educational qualification at the time of document verification, failing which their candidature will be rejected.
Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted unless otherwise specified, instead of Course Completed Act Apprentices/ITI for the Technicians in Pay Level-2 post. Graduate Act apprentice will not be accepted in place of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA).
How to Apply
Candidates can apply for multiple posts based on their educational qualifications. Candidates are required to indicate their post-wise preference very carefully. Once exercised in the ONLINE application, options shall be final, and no request for change shall be entertained. Therefore, candidates are advised to exercise the option for post(s) carefully. KRCL will allot only one post to the selected candidate as per the preference of the candidate, subject to merit, vacancy position, and qualifying the various stages of the selection process.
Candidates are permitted to apply for only one post from Technician-III/Electrical and Technician-III/Mechanical.
Registration Process & Filling of Online Application
The candidates shall first register their names by visiting the official website of KRCL, . A registration number will be generated upon successful registration. This registration number and password will be sent to the candidates via registered email and mobile number. Further, a link for making an application along with the registration number and password will be sent to the candidate’s registered e-mail address. On activation of this link, the candidate will get access to the application form.
The link for registration and application submission will go live on 16/09/2024.
Candidates must submit their Aadhaar Number when they register. Therefore, they are advised to update their Aadhaar details with UIDAI.
Recruitment Process
The recruitment process of Station Master (SM) and Assistant Loco Pilot(ALP) shall involve CBT, Computer-Based Aptitude Test/ OMR-based Aptitude Test, Document Verification, and Medical Examination. Candidates qualifying for the CBT shall be called for a Computer-Based Aptitude Test/OMR-based Aptitude Test eight times the number of posts notified in the SM/ALP category. However, this number may vary depending on the total number of vacancies. A merit list of candidates qualifying for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test/OMR-based Aptitude Test will be prepared by giving 70% weightage to CBT marks and 30% weightage to Aptitude test marks. DV will follow this.
The recruitment process for the posts of Senior Section Engineer (Civil), Senior Section Engineer (Electrical), Goods Train Manager (GTM), Commercial Supervisor, Technician-III/Mechanical, Technician-III/Electrical, and ESTM shall involve CBT followed by the Document Verification and Medical Examination.
The recruitment process for the Pointsman and Track Maintainer posts shall involve CBT followed by Document Verification, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Medical Examination.
Candidates qualifying the CBT will be called for document verification (DV) five times the number of vacancies notified. After that, candidates equal to three times the number of vacancies notified who qualify in CBT and DV will be called for PET. PET is qualifying in nature.
The date, time, and venue for CBT and other additional activities as applicable shall decided by KRCL and intimated to the eligible candidates. Request for any modification in this regard shall not be entertained.
The CBTs are tentatively scheduled for November 2024.
Incorrect answers in CBT will be marked negatively. One-third of the marks allotted for each question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
